Get to know me:
My career in apparel began at an early age, creating custom looks for all of my dolls. My grandma saw my interest and soon taught me to knit and crochet. By high school I was creating costumes for the theater department and quite a few prom dresses. These experiences built into a passion for all things textiles. I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in apparel design at Iowa State University. Having worked in corporate clothing design, I now strive to be more hands on and creative in my fiber pursuits. I have a passion for sustainability and helping you make the most of your wardrobe.
In addition to being adept at knitting, crochet, garment design, natural dyes, and sewing, I have spent years honing my skills as an educator for people of all ages. I love to share my excitement for the aforementioned topics with students and see that spark catches for them.
I’m at my happiest when I’m up to my elbows in yarn, fabric, or a dye bath. The ability to create something start to finish with my own hands brings me much joy. Additionally, I also adore camping, spending time outside, biking, and gardening. My husband and I keep our own tiny “urban farm” in Minneapolis with our daughter, three dogs, and seven chickens.
